The Goals for the National Art Honor Society at ARGS:
1. Recognize those students who have shown outstanding ability in the field of art.
2. Serve as a service organization to the school and community by participating in one or more art based volunteer projects.
3. Serve as an inspiration for students to strive for higher goals in their work.
4. Foster excellence and a dedicated spirit in the pursuit of art.
5. Encourage the creative abilities and talents of the individual student.
6. Bring art to the attention of the school and community.
7. Increase the awareness of art as a viable area within the total school curriculum.
8. Advance aesthetic awareness in all aspects of the total education program.

The criteria for membership in the National Art Honor Society emphasizes outstanding artistic scholarship and service to the school and community through development of artistic endeavors together with a strong moral character. By exemplifying these standards, the individual student members of the society promote an awareness of art and become active participants in the education process in their school and their community.
